How to Update or Select My Measurements For Competitions

After you have joined a competition the designated measurement of that competition will automatically be added to your measurements located on the My Stats page. This will make better sense in step

1.Go to your competition or the competition you have just joined

2.Verify the type of measurment for the competition (i.e, weight loss, minutes exercised, steps taken, etc). Simply put, what are you competition on in the competition. THe measurment of the competition will be identifed in ‘Competing On' field within the description of the competition.

3.Once you know the designated measurement go to My Stats page

4.Remember after you join any competiton the measurment will automatically be added to your My Stats page.

5. Now find the corresponding measurement on the My Stats page and make your entry. Be honest! IMPORTANT: For weight loss, weight gain, and body fat enter you actual new measurement and NOT the amount you lost. Example- if you are competing on weight loss enter your new body weight (165 lbs) not how much you lost (5lbs).

6.If the corresponding measurement is not listed, first double check the designated measurement of the competition you are joining. If the measurement is still not displayed go to How to Create Measurements

7.Go to “Understanding the Leaderborad and Graph”

How to Create Measurements

1. Go to My Stats Tab

2. Click the Edit Measurement Link

3. Select your measurement from the drop down list (weight loss, weight gain, body fat, miles exercised, minutes exercised, or steps taken).

4. Click the Add button

5. Make sure both the Update Feed and Plot & Graph boxes are check. The Update Feed updates the leaderboard in your competitions. The Plot & Graph displays your measurements on the graph both in the competition and on you're My Stats Page.

How to Update Measurments (weight, body fat, minutes exercised, miles exercised, steps taken, etc.)

  1. Go to https://www.fitformyseason.com/my_stats.php
  2. Find the measurement you desire to update
  3. Enter the measurement in the box
  4. Click the Save button

Making entries to update your measurements is very simple. However there is one rule to remember when entering for certain measurements. Weight Loss, Weight Gain, and Body Fat- The rule of thumb for weight loss, weight gain, and body fat measurement entries is to enter your weight or body fat percentage and NOT the weight loss or weight gain amount. Example if your weight is 165lbs on 09/01/2011 enter 165. If you new weight on 09/21/2011 is 161lbs enter 161lbs NOT 4lbs. The leaderboard and graph will calculate + display the weight difference. Miles Exercises, Minutes Exercised, and Steps Taken- The same rule applies for these measurements. Example: If you ran 5 miles on 9/14/2011 enter 5. If you ran 3 miles on 9/16/2011 enter 3. The entries and total will be automatically calculated.

Individual vs Team Competition

Individual Competition

Selecting the Individual option on the new competition will prevent anyone from joining your competition. It's like having a party and not telling anyone about it. Once your competition is created it will bypass the invitation page

Team Competition

Selecting the Team option while you are creating a new competition will not only allow you to invite others but it will allow others to join after your competition is created. The only way to have a team-based competition with a one-way invitation (only you can invite, but others cannot join without your invitation) is to make the competition Private. Facebook competitions are automatically made private so there is no private option.

Private vs Public Competitions

Private

Selecting the Private option while you are creating a new competition will prevent anyone from being able to view your competition.

Public

Selecting the Public option while you are creating a new competition will allow others to view

Combination: Public vs. Private and Individual vs. Teams

Private and Teams- Your competition will be located in the private competition section. Only persons who you and other members in the competition invite can join your competition. It's like a ‘members only club'. Your competition is not accessible to the public

Private and Individual- Your competition will be located in the private competition section. You are the only person in the competition. Your competition is not accessible to the public nor can it be viewed.

Public and Teams- Your competition will be located in the public competition section. Your competition is accessible and open to the public. So not only can you invite others, those you invite can invite others. In additionanyone can join your competition and invite anyone they like.

Public and Individual- Your competition will be located in the public competition section. You are the only person in the competition. Others can access and view your competition but cannot join it.
